Butte Valley Ambulance Service, Inc. (BVAS) has been providing a private, not for profit, 501c (3) ambulance to the Butte Valley Area for 28 years. Our service area includes approximately 1200 square miles in North Eastern Siskiyou County, California. Our terrain starts with an elevation of 4,300 feet on the valley floor and then can reach over 8,000 feet in the Klamath and Modoc National Forests.
While we are considered quite rural with a permanent population of 2,500, we also a have a major north south transportation route. We serve approximately 40 miles of US Highway 97 and railroad.
Our Crewmembers currently consists of 9 Volunteer EMT’s and we now have 2 Volunteer First Responders. As with most small communities, the emergency services overlap. All but 4 of our Crewmembers are also on a Fire Department. |
